Recently, Teijin chemical pharmaceutical companies in Japan are working to regenerate waste plastic bottles into print paper, making them suitable for printing ink or toner while protecting the environment.

Teijin company has teamed up Nisshinbo Postal Chemical Co. produce what they call ECOPE paper using waste plastic bottles containing polyethylene terephthalate standard products, according to reports. The thickness of these new environmentally friendly paper is the same as that of ordinary paper, but because the raw material is plastic, it is not easy to tear, nor is it easy to tear because of humidity.

ECOPE paper is suitable for laser printers, but also directly for general pens and so on. Because it does not contain a smooth or thin film coating, these papers can also be glued or cut like normal paper. Moreover, because it is only a layer of plastic, it can be recycled countless times.

 Different from traditional paper, ECOPE paper can also be used for outdoor decoration, labels and packaging frozen products.

 At present, there is no price information for the paper. The Teijin and Nisshinbo companies, however, say they will primarily supply commercial customers.
